Madeline and Mallory have been learning about the pioneer days. We read
Little House on the Prairie last month and then read all six of the Kirsten books in the
American Girl series. We have also visited Blackberry Farm and the
Naper Settlement where the girls got to tour a blacksmith shop and a log house. They were very excited to see some of the things described in the books, especially the covered wagon. Mallory was
not impressed with the chamber pot. She thought that was
disgusting.

A few days ago they were playing dress up. They decided to dress like the American Girls they've been reading about. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of the ensembles they put together.

They obviously took some creative license, because I doubt Josefina ever wore shoes like these!
