The Ball

We attended The Ball at Madeline's elementary school on May 7th. Madeline was sooooooo excited about it. It was actually the school "Family Dance," but for Madeline it was a ball. She loved attending the Sweetheart Dance in preschool, so she was thrilled when she found out that her school was hosting a dance. Madeline helped her sisters select their attire the night before and she was instrumental in the selection of both my clothes and Scott's clothes. She insisted that he wear his pink tie to match her dress.

The girls had a great time at the dance. We got there when the doors opened and stayed until they made us leave. They danced their little hearts out and consumed a lot of treats. We were probably one of the most dressed up families in attendance. Scott may have been the only dad wearing a tie. There were other moms and dads that even showed up in jeans. That was obviously not an option for us. I stopped to chat with one of the moms in jeans. She commented about how dressed up we were and I explained that Madeline set the dress code. She completely understood. Her daughter didn't make them dress up, but she did make them go out to eat before the dance, because that's what people do before they go to a dance! = )
