Happy Halloween!

The girls had a fantastic Halloween. The temperature was in the low 70's, so they were able to trick-or-treat until they got tired, instead or trick-or-treating until they could no longer feel their fingers.

As planned, Madeline dressed up as Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West.) Mallory went as Glinda the Good Witch and Brianna went as Dorothy (complete with Toto, aka "Puppy.") Scott was Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars.

The biggest surprise of the night was Brianna. She was so funny. I put her in the stroller since we were going to be walking a lot. That didn't last long at all. She wanted to "bok!" (walk) and she insisted on carrying Toto. And then, after watching the other kids for a while, she decided that she wanted to trick-or-treat. I took her up to a house and prompted her to say "please" (which she pronounces "peas.") She was allowed to pick out a piece of candy out of the bowl. She really contemplated her choice. After selecting her candy, she refused to put it in her candy bucket and opted to hold it instead. This continued until she too many pieces of candy to hold. She did a pretty good job of saying thank you ("an-ku") and was just too cute.

Here are the girls' pumpkins. Brianna refused to pose next to hers, but she was very excited that it was carved to look like Elmo.
